Warsaw
Last time we visited New York, cousin Amy mentioned that she would be presenting at a conference in Poland, so we jokingly said we'd meet her there.
Turns out we were able to find a cheap package deal, so we decided to spend a weekend in Warsaw! Not knowing quite what to expect, we spent most of our time eating and just lazily wandering the streets of Warsaw. There are some parts of the city that still show some scarring from war, with buildings that look like they had been shot at, but other parts of the city are quite colourful and busy. The old town is quite charming, with a beer garden (or five) at every turn.
The food was fabulous. Being the dumpling freak that I am, I loved the Pierogi, which are traditional Polish dumplings which come in a variety of flavours. Hmmmmm...
