London blasts

Thank you to family and friends for the concerned phone calls, emails, and text messages. The bombings that took place in central London last Thursday will haunt us for a long time, and fortunately we are all ok. Phoebe and Shane were both out of the country for work, whilst Paul, Jody, and I were at least a few miles away.

Traci Lords

Actually nothing to do with Traci Lords but I am just trying to get more hits on our blog :P

This is about cricket - not just any cricket match either - but a cricket match at Lords! The home of cricket - full of gentlemen and the british. I was lucky enough to be offered a ticket to the One Day final between England and Australia by a friend who managed to purchase 2 in the ticket lottery, so of course I hightailed it back to London from Prague. England won the toss and put Australia into bat and despite a great start Australia slumped to be all out in the 49th over for 196. This put all the British supporters into a ferverish chorus of pride, but then again they do it a lot better than most. It didn't look good for Australia, and a few overs into the England innings they were 5/33 and Australia looked home and the British supporters were decidedly quiet. However England batted on and managed to amazingly score an unexpected TIE (as rare as hen's teeth in cricket). By the reaction of the crowd you would think that they had won the world cup or something. But all credit to England to get to the position when they should have lost by 100. Just to throw up the obvious cliche - Cricket was the real winner here.

And in other news - the mighty All Blacks once again trounced the Lions to win the second test by 48-18
