Hampton Court Palace

Once the home of Henry VIII, this historic palace is absolutely massive! We wandered through room after room, all of which were lined with ornate wallpaper and filled with grand pieces of furniture and art. If we weren't given a map we would have easily lost ourselves in the maze of bedrooms and kitchens. Now the kitchens were really something - apparently they were built to cater for around 600 people at a time!

Surrounding the palace, there are acres of lush green gardens, filled with roses, ponds, and perfectly manicured trees. Apparently one of the ponds turns into an outdoor ice skating rink in winter. Enough said!
