Munich

Work sent me to Munich for the SAP TechEd conference, so we took the opportunity to do some sightseeing on the weekends either side of the conference.

Before the conference started, we took a trip out to Dachau to see one of the concentration camps from the Second World War. It was quite a depressing experience, especially walking through the rooms where people had been tortured, and worse still, killed.

On the lighter side of things, we spent a lot of time wandering through the town centre, visiting many a shop and beer hall along the way. Throughout the entire week we ate enough pork and potatoes to last a year! At night we were lucky enough to meet up with a few other fellow conference-goers and discover Munich by beer hall.

Munich was great, if you are into eating pork and drinking beer, and lots of it. Luckily we are. Most of the time that I was there Tammie was to be in the conference, so luckily Paul agreed to come too so that I had somebody to hang around with and drink beer and eat pork. We also did a bit of site seeing, went out to some palace, which had great lawns. We figure that next time we go we should take a footy and have a bit of a kick :) How Australian!!

PS - Be sure to ask Paul about his first night in Munich, and what he came back to the hotel without.
